Robert Stephenson

Robert Stephenson enters his first season with the University of Mary Washington men’s lacrosse program in 2025–26 as Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator. In this role, he leads the Eagles’ defensive unit and face-off group while contributing to recruiting communications, practice design, and game-day preparation.

Before arriving in Fredericksburg, Stephenson served as Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire for the 2024- 2025 season. In addition to overseeing the defensive unit and goalies, he coordinated recruiting efforts, travel logistics, and game-day operations while playing a key role in practice and game planning.

On the international stage, Stephenson is the Defensive Coordinator for both the men’s national field and box teams with France Lacrosse. He was part of the coaching staff that guided the national field program to its highest-ever finish at the 2025 European Championships and contributed to the launch of the program’s first-ever national box team.

At the club level, Stephenson has coached with the New Hampshire Tomahawks and Pittsburgh 79ers, working with multiple age groups and developing players across a variety of competitive levels.

Stephenson is a 2024 graduate of Davis & Elkins College, where he was a defenseman and competed in five seasons for the Senators, appearing in 59 games with 32 starts, and earning Academic All-Conference honors each year.


Patrick Finn

Patrick Finn enters his eighth season as an assistant coach and sixth as the Offensive Coordinator. Finn is a graduate of the Boys' Latin School of Baltimore, MD, and played his college lacrosse at the University of Virginia where he was an attackman. He has coached at all levels of the sport including as an assistant at UVA coaching the midfield, and at Penn State University as the Offensive Coordinator. Finn has participated in two NCAA finals, coming up short both times in sudden death. He has won high school state titles in Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia. He founded the New Milford Youth Lacrosse League in Connecticut, and the C & A lax club team in Baltimore. His grandfather Raymond Finn is on the All Hopkins team as a goalie, his father Gene played at Duke, and brother Kevin played at West Point.
